Today marks the launch of Cornerstone's website. Generally, the site will be relatively static. The main page will always focus on the preaching series, and it is my hope to post on this blog once a week. Other than that, most pages will be generic and informational for the time being. If you want to keep up with the ebb and flow of Cornerstone, the best place to stay connected is the Facebook page, which you can find a link to at the top of this page.
The purpose of this blog will be to point to the glory of Jesus Christ. It is my hope that everyone will PURSUE the glory of Jesus, TREASURE the glory of Jesus, and PROCLAIM the glory of Jesus. The best way to do all three of these things is to immerse yourself in God's Word. Therefore, each week I hope to open up God's Word and provide some insight. My prayer is that God would open the eyes of my heart and cause me to see His truth while reading His words, so that I can be a jar of clay carrying the wonderful treasure of Christ (2 Corinthians 4:7).
Many of you (I hope) have just begun a new 2013 Bible reading plan. If you have, you probably began in Genesis, Chapter 1. In the beginning we see God creating everything by the power of His Word. His Word does not return to him void, it achieves exactly what God purposes (Isaiah 55:11). This same Word is available to us. It has the power to create in us new life, transforms our hearts and minds, rebukes us, exhorts us, edifies us, encourages us, and comforts us. It is a Word that we should feed on every day.
" But he answered, "It is written, "'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" - Matthew 4:4
